... at Ashprington Village Hall, Devon
You are warmly invited to the second IBMT Peer Summer Gathering for past and present students (IBMT is the the institute for Integrative Bodywork and Movement Therapy). We are trying a different format this year. If you have completed at least one module from the Diploma programme or the first year of the embodied anatomy module you are welcome to join us.
cost for the weekend
£90
Circle, Community, Resourcing ... We want to give an opportunity for past and present students of IBMT to meet and learn from our community, to share and pollinate our practice . This will be an opportunity to reconnect with people with whom you have shared your IBMT learning and to meet new folk too. Participants who have been awarded the diploma will be invited to run sessions.
Included in the cost of the weekend:
-
a simple supper as we gather on the Friday evening
-
a shared lunch in the hall on Saturday and Sunday
-
hall hire
Not included:
-
overnight accommodation
This is a grassroots initiative that needs your energy to book early to ensure it’s momentum into fruition …
We need 10 people to sign up and pay a deposit of £45 by Easter. If there is not sufficient interest, the weekend will not go ahead; any deposits paid will be refunded.
Ali thought it would be a great idea to have a weekend where IBMT students and graduates could meet and share ideas: "A summer gathering." Ali and Laurence organised the first one in 2025. Due to the success of this event we have decided to offer another opportunity for IBMT students to gather in circle in 2026. This time at Ashprington Village Hall.
Practical information ...
This year the format of this peer event will be familiar to students who are undertaking or have undertaken their training in Devon at Ashprington Village Hall. Like last year we plan to develop the programme so there will be a mix of sessions offered by you, the participants of the event. We also liked the sense of community which we got from preparing food and eating together and so this will, once more, be a feature of the weekend with simple, healthy meals provided on the Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday lunchtimes prepared by the community.
Accommodation
You will be responsible for finding your own overnight accommodation this year. We are currently researching options if people would like to camp together. We will let you have this information as soon as we have it ourselves.
Getting to Ashprington Village Hall
The nearest train station is Totnes. Public transport to Ashprington from Totnes is sporadic/non-existent. Taxis are available from the station. We hope that people travelling by car will offer lifts to people who are travelling by train.
Programme
This is a peer organised and peer run event. We welcome suggestions of which elements people would like to see in the programme or any particular themes you would like covered. We are inviting people who have completed the diploma programme to offer sessions for us all. Please let us know if you would like to offer a session.
